"3">James Earl Lassiter, 62, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011 at U.A.B. Hospital in Birmingham. He was a truck driver for 40 years.
"3">He is survived by his wife, Glenis (Stewart) Lassiter of Bay Minette; one daughter, Bridget Diane (Fred) Applegate of Bay Minette; his mother, Dorothy Carpenter of Bay Minette; two brothers, Curtis Wendell Lassiter and Reuben Dale Carpenter, both of Bay Minette; four sisters, Thelma Catrett of Bay Minette, Jeannie Brown of Prattville, Kimberly Long of Bay Minette and Betty Sample of Gulfport, Miss.; five grandchildren, Brittany Welch (Thomas) Bowie, Jonathan Welch, Shelby Applegate, Hunter Applegate and Fred Applegate Jr.; his beloved dog, Angel; a number of nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Mildred Stewart.
"3">He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Lassiter.
"3">The funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at 2 p.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Presley Cemetery in Lottie, Ala.
"3">The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
