James “Jim” Mitchell Sanders, 73, a native of Thayer, Mo. and resident of Fairhope, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the National Guard.
Jim retired from the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad after 52 years of service.
He loved watching movies, taking pictures, running and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dian Sanders of Fairhope; two children, Jim (Teresa) Sanders Jr. of Marietta, Ga. and Melissa (Bobby) Cole of West Point, Miss.; stepchildren, Elizabeth Kulman and Samuel Kulman II, both of Magnolia Springs; grandchildren, Katie, Christie and Mitchell Sanders and Jessica Cole; step-grandchildren, Rachel, Gabriel and Lara Eve Kulman.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 29, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m., at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 30, 2014, at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
