James Michael Kephart 49, a native of Albuquerque, N.M., and a resident of Daphne, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 in Fairhope.
He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2005 as Senior Chief Petty Officer with 23 years of service.
Survivors include a son, Kevin L. Kephart of Creede, Colo.; his father, Frank E. (Martha) Kephart of Farmington, N.M.; mother, Elizabeth Beyer (Faye Huggins) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; two sisters, Caryn (Leonard) Neidhold of Reno, Nev., and Kim Aull (Mark McAstoker) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; brother, Bob Kephart of Boston; and best friend and ex-wife, Cindy Harris of Creede, Colo.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS, Pensacola, Fla. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church in Daphne.
The family requests memorial donations be made to BBVA “Compass” Bank, 28000 U.S. Highway 98, Daphne, AL 36526, c/o Education Trust Fund for Kevin Kephart.
