James Norman “Jabo” Ezell, 91, a native of Lisman and a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy T. Ezell; a son, William T. “Bill” Ezell; and six older siblings.
Jabo was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He worked as a forester with International Paper Co., and was a charter member of Providence United Methodist Church in Spanish Fort.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Ezell of Spanish Fort; a son, James (Carolyn) Ezell of Tuscaloosa; grandson, Dr. Jonathan (Laura) Ezell of Cookeville, Tenn.; stepdaughters, Kathy (Jerry) Hollingsworth of Saraland and Karen (Lance) Lee of Montgomery; stepson, Mark (Jan) Taylor of Vestavia Hills; grandchildren, Joshua Hollingsworth and Justin Hollingsworth, both of Saraland, Morgan Lee and Maegan Lee, both of Montgomery, and Meredith Taylor and Claire Taylor, both of Vestavia Hills; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m., at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at 10 a.m., at Providence United Methodist Church, 33200 Jimmy Faulkner Dr. in Spanish Fort.
Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at York City Cemetery in York.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Providence United Methodist Church.
