James Preston White, age 47, born in Atmore and a resident the Pine Grove Community, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012 at Thomas Hospital.
He was a shop foreman at Pasco Metal in Bay Minette. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Elizabeth (Hash) White of Pine Grove; his children, Brittany Amanda Janes and Emily Tyler White both of Perdido; his parents, Jimmy and Sandra White of Pine Grove; his stepchildren, Shana Symes and Jilliann Hunt both of Sanford, N.C. and Bradon Hunt of Ayden,N.C.; two grandchildren Hunter Keith and Braxton Lucas; two bothers, Victor Burt (Wendi) White of Pine Grove and Nicholis Monroe “Nickie” (Mary) White of Crossroads; two sisters, Averil Yvonne White of Pine Grove and Rhonda G. (Terry) Cox of St. Augustine, Fla. and 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phillip and Freda Turberville; Charles and Thelma White and “Aunt Goose” Lucy Lou Harris. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Kenneth Crook and Samuel Earl Crook officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Victor White, Nickie White, Justin Schell, Phillip Devers, Steve Caraway and Paul Godwin. Honorary pallbearers were Hunter Keith, Jimmy White, Jesse White and Gage White.
