James W. “Rabbit” Harris, 70, a native of Pigeon Creek, former resident of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and a resident of Foley, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Lee Harris and Todd Nathan Harris; his mother, Earthie Lee Jones; and two brothers, James McKinnon and Paul Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Nancy L. Harris of Foley; six sons, Jerome Porter, Darryl Harris, Derek Johnson, James A. Harris, Jason Harris and Antwain Harris; four daughters, Gwendolyn Harris, Tonya Kay Harris, Chantelle Gancerez and Chameika Harris; two sisters, Patricia Blackmon and Mary Louise Jones; special uncle, Cecil Harris; 28 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
