Jamie Tyson, 62, of Foley, was granted her angel wings on Feb. 2, 2013 after she had bravely confronted and fought a hard battle with colon cancer.
Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some small way throughout her life. She fought a real good fight; stubborn and strong willed, but in the end she was tired and the cancer being stronger than her, it finally won. She was born on Jan. 30, 1951 to Roy and Margaret Tyson of Mobile. She married Steve Mosley in her early adult years and gave birth to two beautiful children, Angel and Tracy. Later in life she found her calling as a Karaoke DJ. She had a wonderful voice and all who knew her, enjoyed that voice. Now she can sing with the angels and sing to her parents and siblings there, who missed hearing that voice. Jamie is survived by her daughter, Angel (Jerry) McWatters, and her son, Tracy (Chrissy) Mosley. She had five grandchildren, Jennifer Mosley (Jeff) Parker who shared her birthday, Jasmine Hargrove, her namesake Jamie Reid, TJ Mosley, and Megan Mosley; three sisters and two brothers. Her oldest sister, Jackie (Denis) Kearney, younger sisters, Joyce (Ralph) Wiggins, Jimmie (David) Rawlins and younger brothers, Sammy (Jackie) Tyson and Dwayne (Wanda) Tyson. She has several loving nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Jamie is preceded in death by her parents, Roy M. and Margaret Tyson; her twin sisters, Janine and Janelle Tyson, and brother, Roy M. Tyson Jr. A celebration of her life will be held on Feb. 11, 2013 at New Beginning Christian Fellowship, 13672 County Road 55, Foley. The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations in Jamie’s name at American Cancer Society.
