Janice Cooper Turk went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer. Her unwavering faith in God along with the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through this seven-year fight.
Born on Jan. 1, 1948 to Adolph and Agnes Cooper, she grew up in Atmore. She graced the lives of all who knew her with love, patience and peace-filled spirit.
Her life was spent caring for others — a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlin Turk Knight and her husband, Jon; son, Brian Turk and his wife, Krissie; three grandchildren, Garett Turk, Carleigh Turk and Olivia Knight; sisters, Carolyn Gaboury and Juana Rolin; brothers, Wayne Cooper, Larry Cooper, Jimmy Cooper and David Cooper and their families, including many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Adolph Cooper; and her granddaughter, Hannah Lauren Knight.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Pine Terrace Baptist Church, 6212 Pine Blossom Road, Milton, Fla. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., prior to the service.
