Jean Shumate Vafiades R.N., 81, formerly of Fairhope, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 in Sugar Land, Texas.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Judy Grove and husband, Ron Grove of Biloxi, Miss.; three children, Nicholas Vafiades and wife, Lori Vafiades of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dino Vafiades and wife, Terri Vafiades of Nashville, Tenn. and Donna Cutrona and husband, Robert Cutrona of Sugar Land, Texas; seven grandchildren, Zachary Vafiades, Jillian Stinecipher, Amanda Cutrona, Kyle Cutrona, Hanna Vafiades, Abi Jean Vafiades and Chloe Vafiades; three great-grandchildren, Carter, William and Samantha Stinecipher.
Jean will be returned to Fairhope, where her remains will be scattered over Mobile Bay.
