Jerome Carmelo Monti, 89, a longtime resident of Gulf Shores, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013.
Born in Pensacola, he was a commercial fisherman in the shrimping industry for numerous years.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially Joe and Betty Zanetti, and Buck and Jewel Keith.
Jerome is survived by his sons, Jerome C. Monti Jr., Lawrence E. Monti, Anthony J. Monti and Carlos Monti, all of Deltona, Fla., and Tracey Monti of Elberta; daughters, Cynthia and Cecilia Monti of Deltona, Fla., Deborah Askegren of Pensacola and Joann Scher; brothers, Frankie Paul Monti of Leeds, Ala. and Anthony Joseph Monti of Cantonment, Fla.; numerous grandchildren and many other family and friends.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held March 3, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
