Jerry D. Welch Sr., born Oct. 30, 1938 in Mobile, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:55 a.m. in Gautier, Miss., surrounded by his family.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his oldest son, Jerry D. Welch Jr.; his parents, Addison Joe Welch and Maybell Williamson; and his siblings, Harold Welch and Jean Crosby.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Kathryn Welch; his children, daughter, Denise Welch Garriga (James) of Pascagoula, Miss.; sons, James B. Welch (Wendy) of Carriere, Miss. and Dewey W. Welch (Stacy) of Terrytown, La.; six grandchildren, Ashley Poole (David), Kady Welch, Heidi Welch, Ryan Dixon, Christian Welch and Landon Welch; one great-granddaughter, Aria Rayn Poole; sister, Peggey Duplan; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 3 p.m., at the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2 until time of the service. Interment will follow at Timney South River Park Cemetery.
