Jessie Marion Godwin, 73, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at Thomas Hospital. He was an electrician (retired) with State Electric. He was a veteran of the National Guard.
He is survived by: his son, Marion E. Godwin of Bay Minette; three daughters, Jananette Dunlavy of New Orleans, La., Sherry White of Bay Minette and Lisa Parnell of Brewton, Ala.; two brothers, H.L. Godwin of Citronelle, Ala. and Billy Joe Godwin of Florida; five sisters, Bonnie Mae Wright of Bay Minette, Ailene Kelly of Atmore, Marie Tuberville of Perdido, Hilda Godwin of Atmore and Betty Matthews of Lottie; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, 11 a.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron McGhee officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Flowers, Ronnie Flowers, Steve Morris, Chris Wiggins, Aaron Godwin and Justin Mayo.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, 6-9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
