Hazel Jimenez, born Aug. 6, 1927, the daughter of James C. Nix and Cora Mixon Nix, raised in Robertsdale and a long time resident of Baldwin County, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008.

She graduated from Robertsdale High in 1946, and from nursing school in 1951. She moved to California where she met and married Louis Jimenez in 1955.

She then returned to Fairhope where they raised their only son Jeffrey Jimenez.

She had been an active member of Liberty Church since 1984. She worked at Thomas Hospital and retired from the Baldwin County Health Department. In 2001, she moved to Daphne.

Survivors include her loving husband, Louis Jimenez; a son, Jeffrey (Tamara) Jimenez; granddaughters, Brittney and Bethany Jimenez; grandson, Ben Jimenez; and three brothers, James P. Nix of Fairhope, Billy Nix of Starke, Fla., and Nolan Nix of Lula, Ga.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. at Fairhope Memory Gardens.
