Jiri Maurer, 25, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013.
Jiri was born in Prague of the Czech Republic and lived in Foley for the past 14 years, where he attended and graduated from Foley High School.
He was a very talented and gifted young man, who was so mechanically inclined that he could build or repair just about anything. He was a genius with computers, and loved his music so much that he even taught himself to play the guitar.
Having a great time with his friends and family, and spending time hanging with them around the bonfires was his favorite thing to do.
He was an amazing chef who loved to cook, and was employed at a local restaurant.
Jiri will be remembered as a true gentleman, one who loved his family and his friends.
Surviving are his parents, Jarmila “JJ” Maurerova of Foley and Jan Maurer of Prague; his brother, Jan Maurer of Philadelphia, Pa.; and his favorite cat, Macek.
A gathering and bonfire in Jiri’s honor to celebrate his life will be held at his home beginning at 3 p.m., on Thursday afternoon, May 30, 2013, until late evening.
