MOBILE, Ala. — The Joe Jefferson Players will present a performance of Dennis Snee’s “Twain by the Tale” Sunday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m., at the JJP Playhouse, 11 S. Carlen Street in Mobile. The doors open at 1:30.

The show is a revue of Mark Twain stories, sketches and monologues performed in Reader’s Theater fashion.

It is a brilliantly composed theater piece bringing to life the unpredictable wit and timeless perceptions of the great humorist.

Done in the Story Theatre and Thurber Carnival form, some of Twain’s favorite targets are laid bare: bigots and bureaucrats, monarchs and moralists, cowardly duelists and frustrated suitors.

There are also Twain’s unreserved, razor-sharp thoughts on friendship, vice, good breeding and politicians.

It makes for a delightful afternoon.

The cast includes Tom Gray, Rick Miller, Tania Parades, Oliver Murdick, Jackson Hensen, Marjory Markel, E.A. Keeble, John Paul Jones, Teri Willamson and Jack Moon.

The production is directed by: Jacob Taylor.

There is a $5 charge at the door. Refreshments will be served in the lobby after the show.
