Joan M. “Joanie” Pupp Green, 71, was born to eternal life at Oconomowoc, Wisc. on April 1, 2015, joining her beloved husband of 48 years, William, two years to the day of his passing, April 1, 2013.
Dear mom of Theresa (Norb) Hoff and Heather Green. Proud grandma of Victoria Green and William “Will” Hoff.
Preceded in death by her parents and several siblings. Dear sister of the late Marge (Art) Ingram, the late Irv (Helen) Pupp, Dolores (the late John) Willems, Ruth (the late Ron) Seebruch, Chuck (Leah) Pupp, Janet (the late Jerry) Gall, Vi (Ray) Scroggins and Jim (Rose) Pupp.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joan will be remembered for being “Foster Mom Extraordinaire,” sometimes having up to three infants in her home at a time, along with her two daughters and husband for more than 28 years. She cared for a total of 180 babies.
As part of Catholic Social Services and Milwaukee County, Wisc., they had 169. Then in Baldwin County, they had an additional 11 long-term children.
Over the years, she was a member of Corpus Christi Parish in Milwaukee for 27 years and, most recently, St. Margaret Queen of Scotland Parish.
She was also a member of the Antique Automobile Association of America (she loved her 1955 Ford Crown Victoria), Senior Circle, Foley Senior Center and Summer Dale Sail, where she was known as the “Cheese Lady.”
Joan will be missed for her smile, cooking, care of her family and friends, and her deep love of babies.
A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015, from 10:30-11 a.m., at St. Margaret Queen of Scotland Church, 601 W. Laurel Ave. in Foley. Mass will begin at 11.
A luncheon will follow mass at the church.
