Mr. Joe Oliver Young, 85, passed away on Tuesday April 2, 2013 in Foley. He was a native of Elmore County and a resident of Foley.
Joe was a long time carpenter/construction worker. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
He was a veteran of the Army, and a member of the American Legion Post 99 in Foley.
He will be greatly missed by his loving dog companion, “003.”
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his two brothers, Richard and John Ben Young.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald (Mary) Young of Bogart, Ga.; two sisters, Liz Anderson of Foley and Christine (Wayne) Smith of Robertsdale; nieces and nephews, Denise(Brian) Poczekaj-Weinert, Terry, Randy, Eric Poczekaj; Brad, Greg, and Ben Smith; Wade (Mona) and Ricky Young, Allison Hodges; and special friends Peggy, Frank, Thelma and Everett.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Chapel in Foley on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends after the chapel services at The American Legion Post 99 in Foley.
