Leona Matilda Joellenbeck, 82, of Kansas City, Mo., a former resident of Foley, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at New Mark Care Center.
She was born June 29, 1925 in Okawville, Ill. She spent most of her life in Okawville until she moved to Foley in 1989.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and volunteered in the Performing Arts Association in Foley. She was also an excellent seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy Joellenbeck, and a sister, Esther Kuhn.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Pat) Joellenbeck; daughter, Sandra “Sandi” (John) Anheier; grandchildren, Aaron, “A.J.” Joellenbeck, Angela “Angie” Siedschlag, Anthony “Tony” Joellenbeck, Nicole “Nicki” Rockert, Keegan Welch, Kevin Welch, Keith Welch and Tara Anheier, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, Mo.
