John Alan Graves, 44, a longtime resident of Daphne and Mobile, died Jan. 19, 2015 at Mobile Infirmary from complications of esophageal cancer.
John was born in Louisville, Ky. to John Brice Graves and Monetta Moak Noland.
He graduated from McKinley High School in Baton Rouge, La. and earned a B.A. in marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La.
John served a tour of duty in the Marine Corps in Desert Storm.
He married Kim Brashear on June 25, 1994.
John enjoyed history, football, church ministry, hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving bride of 20 years, Kim Brashear Graves of Mobile; daughter, Kayla Graves of Mobile; two sons, Brett and Devin Graves of Mobile; mother Monetta Moak Noland (Ronald) of Mobile; father, John Brice Graves Jr. (Lisa) of Demorest, Ga.; and sister, Kara Graves Marino (Konan) of Charlotte, N.C.
Celebration of life services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at Eastern Shore Baptist Church, 6847 Park Dr. in Daphne.
Visitation will be held in the church sanctuary prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m.
A committal service with honor guard will follow at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
