John Edward Brantley, 71, a resident of Saraland, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at his residence.
He retired from Kimberly Clark after 32 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Abba Temple Shrine and Pentalpha Masonic Lodge No. 804 F.&A.M.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Allen Brantley of Saraland; his children, Ranney Brantley and Karen Brantley, both of Mobile, and Andy Hicks and Keith Hicks, both of Bay Minette; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shawn Mizelle and the Rev. Terry Wigley officiating.
Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery. Military and Masonic honors were rendered at the graveside.
