John M. Martin, age 88, a native of Ohio and a resident of Seminole, Ala, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.
Martin retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He helped build the Lutheran Church in Pensacola and was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Pensacola. Martin is survived by his wife, Joyce Martin of Seminole, Ala; one daughter, Sandra D. Martin and one son, Larry Martin both of Pensacola, Fla; step-children, Rex L. Burt II of Gulf Breeze; Nicki L. Burt of Seminole, Ala, James Ryan Burt of Pensacola, and Rhonda Denise (George) Cagle of Silverhill; half sister, Mary Persons of St. Cloud, Fla; sister-in-law, Louise Johnson of Gadsden, Ala; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
