John O. “Jack” Davis Jr., 85, a resident of Daphne for the past 21 years, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 peacefully at his home.

He was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was born in Chile and retired as a general manager in the tobacco industry.

Survivors include his wife, Yara E. Davis of Daphne; two daughters, Elizabeth O. Davis of London, and Monica Davis (Bob) Baker of Panama City, Panama; three sons, James (Kerry) Davis of Riverside, Calif., Christopher (Stephanie) Davis of New Orleans and Joseph O. Davis of Panama City, Panama; a brother, Michael O. Davis of Fishgard, England and 8 grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Matthew O’Connor as celebrant. A reception will follow in Assumption Hall. At his request, his body was donated to the College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama.

Arrangements are by Hughes Cremation & Funeral Service, Daphne.
