John Sandlin Holt was born Oct. 16, 1928, and entered into rest on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015.
Born and raised in Shreveport, La., he served his country in the U.S. Navy and afterward worked in the oil and gas industry until his retirement.
Preceded in death by parents, John and Jeanette Holt; younger brother, Raymond Holt; and the love of his life for 30 years, Betty Jo Glenn of Gulf Shores, Ala. who died Oct. 6, 2015.
John is survived by his son, Allan Ray Holt and wife Christine of Shreveport La., with whom he made his home this past year; son, Wesley Ross Holt of Branson, Mo.; sister, Jeanne Holt Mason of Bossier City, La.; and granddaughter, Stephanie Rushworth and husband Gary of Arlington, Va.
