John Thomas “Tommy” Tucker, 72, a native of Louisville, Ky. and resident of Orange Beach, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 26, 2014 after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Sue Brent Tucker; mother-in-law, Marjorie Brent; close friend, Scott Walley; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy Tucker; brother, Bobby; and sister, Sue.
Tommy was a graduate of Butler High School, Morehead State University and Indiana University.
He was an industrial arts (shop) teacher for 33 years at Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg, Ind.
He enjoyed memberships in many clubs, including the Antique and Classic Boat Society, Coastal Conservation Association, Grand Lakes Yacht Club and Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, and volunteered his time generously.
Tommy was a faithful member of Orange Beach United Methodist Church.
Tommy had two loves, his wife Linda and his Chris Craft Whippersnapper. Together he and Linda enjoyed many boating adventures.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from noon until 1 p.m., at Orange Beach United Methodist Church, with the funeral service to follow.
The procession will lead from the church to Pine Rest Memorial Park, 16541 U.S. 98 in Foley for interment.
