Johnny Steven “Steve” Lingo, 54, a resident of Foley and formerly of Headland, passed away Oct. 21, 2014 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope.
Steve was born April 2, 1960 to the late John T. and Sally Lingo of Headland.
He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Kenny Lingo of Columbia.
Survivors include his son, Elijah James “Eli” Lingo of Spanish Fort, who was his pride and joy; his sisters, Debby Kirkland (Hap) of Bon Secour and Babbie Heilmeier (Johnny) of Marlow; three nephews, Shane Lindsey, Patrick Kirkland and Garrick Kirkland; a niece, Anna Lingo Lemmond; and many great-nephews and great-nieces. His life was always filled with precious cousins and very special friends.
A celebration of life will be held Oct. 29, 2014, at 2 p.m., at Concord Baptist Church in Newville, with the Rev. Hugh D. “Huey” Kirkland Jr. officiating.
I lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of his son, Eli Lingo, to help support the Spanish Fort Middle School Youth Athletic Department, 33899 Jimmy Faulkner Drive, Spanish Fort, AL 36527. Steve was the most happy when he was on the football field with Eli.
