Joline Jones Dean, 83, of Stapleton, died March 24, 2012.
A native of Vredenburgh, Joline lived a long and fruitful life dedicated to serving her Lord and loving her family and friends. Joline was a charter member of Stapleton Baptist Church, where she served during her life wherever needed, including as choir director, GA leader and Sunday School teacher.
She enjoyed singing in the choir, as a soloist on special occasions and with her brothers and sisters at family reunions.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Dean; grandson John Paxton Dean; brother John Edge Jones; and parents Minnie and Jamie Jones. She is survived by one son, John Charles “Chuck” Dean (Kathy); granddaughter Megan Dean Desko (Andrew) and great-granddaughter Sarah Grace Desko; brothers Jamie Jones Jr. (Beverly) and Burt Jones (Mitzi); sisters Doris Rittelmeyer, Margie Middleton, Kitty Hobbs and Marilyn Mote; sister-in-law Mary Sue Head; nieces and nephews. She was a beloved resident of Baldwin House Assisted Living in Daphne, where she had many friends and especially enjoyed the company of the ladies at her dining table.
Services were Wednesday Stapleton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Allan Lawhorn officiating. Interment was at Stapleton Cemetery. The family thanks the staff at Baldwin House for the love and care shown to “Miss Jo” and to the Dean family. Also appreciated is the compassionate care given by Covenant Hospice and Heavenly Sent Caregiver Service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Stapleton Baptist Church or the John Paxton Dean Youth Missions Scholarship Fund at Providence United Methodist Church in Spanish Fort.
