Joseph “Joey” W. Childress, age 45, a native and resident of Fairhope, passed away from complication of an infection, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; daughter, Emily; son, Dustin Moesch; parents, Joseph “Tommy” and Betty Childress; three sisters, Theresa (Kenny) Wooten, Christie (Richard) Bettner, Lorie (Jamie Gray) Nelson; three brothers, Vernon (JoAnna) Childress, Chad (Melanie) Childress, Preston Childress; 12 nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly. Funeral services will be held at Fish River Baptist Church, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until the service time. Interment will follow in Brook-Cedron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Willow Farms Equine Rescue, 26149 County Road 49, Loxley, AL 36551 or the Mobile Police Auxiliary Mounted Unit, 1251 Virginia Street, Mobile, AL 36604.
