Joseph Monroe McCreary, 84, a native of Baldwin County and resident of Bay Minette, passed away.
Mr. McCreary retired from CSX Railroad after 35 years of employment. He enjoyed camping and simple farming.
He was a member of Stapleton Baptist Church.
Mr. McCreary was preceded in death by his wife, Faye McCreary.
He is survived by his daughter, Jan McCreary (Andy) of Stapleton; sons, Mike McCreary (Pam Thompson) of Saraland and John McCreary (Monica Smith) of Sevierville, Tenn.; brother, Douglas A. McCreary of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at 6:30 p.m., at Stapleton Baptist Church, with Alan Lawhorn, Mike Blair and Terry Blair officiating.
The family will begin to receive friends at 5 p.m. before the service.
