Joseph Watkins, 80, entered heaven June 18, 2014 after a brief illness.
His wife, Pauline Roberson Watkins, was born and raised in Oak (Gulf Shores). Joe was from Mobile.
They married July 29, 1955, went to Wisconsin to attend Bible college, and upon graduation left for the Philippines as missionaries, where they served 27 years.
In 1990, Joe became director of Things to Come Mission in Indianapolis, and continued as director until 2005 when he stepped down and then became assistant director until his death.
God has blessed the ministry in the Philippines with more than 500 churches and six Bible schools today.
Only one life to live — his was well spent.
