Josephine “Jo” A. Heritage MacQueen, a resident of Foley, died July 9, 2014.
She was born June 11, 1918 to Clyde M. and Nell Anderson.
Mrs. MacQueen was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond F. Heritage of Manchester, Conn.; second husband, Giles E. MacQueen Jr. of Mountain Brook; sister, Virginia A. Donivan; and brother, Caron M. Anderson of Long Island, N.Y.
She is survived by her stepchildren, Julian MacQueen and Kim MacQueen of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and granddaughter, Kim MacQueen of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Robert C. (Luda) Donivan of Foley, Joyce D. Gaar of Magnolia Springs, Nancy D. (Roland) Thomas of Acworth, Ga., Joann (Don) Lawrenz of Lillian, Jaine (Nick) Novosel of Lexington, Ky., Lt. Col. Jim (Karen) Donivan of Prince George, Va. and Karen MacKoul of East North Point, N.Y.
Jo was born and reared in a family surrounded by music. Music was her life’s work, whether studying, teaching, entertaining, or promoting in some form. She only recently retired in the last six years.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2014, at 3:15 p.m., at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.
Jo requested memorials be made to the Baldwin County Humane Society in Fairhope, or to the Disabled American Veterans Association.
