Joyce Ann Clark, 68, of Newton, died Monday night, May 5, 2008 at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born July 27, 1939 in Dale County to Cecil and Myrtle Andrews Ellis. She and her husband, James Lamar “Jimmy” Clark owned and operated Southland Nursery for over 20 years and she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Helms of Newton; two sons, Jeffery Lamar (Laura) Clark and James Allen Clark all of Dothan; sister, Jackie (Larry) Brown of Bay Minette; three brothers, Larry Ellis of Ozark, Cecil Ellis of Shilott, N.C., and Bobby Ellis of Dothan; seven grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Tidwell, Anthony (Carly) Helms, Melody Clark, Eric Clark, Garrett Clark, Nathan Handley and Zeke Handley; four great-grandchildren, Aleah Tidwell, Seth Tidwell, Lily Helms and Chloe Helms; special family friends, Teri Clark and Russell Garner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8 at Newton United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Willis officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton.
Arrangements were made by Holman Funeral Home of Ozark.
