Juliana Cedelia Phillips Nuss passed away peacefully at home in Gulf Shores on Jan. 8, 2013.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert E. “Red” Phillips, her brother Charles Ferrier Phillips and brother-in-law, Garland Gene Henley. She is survived by her mother, Elsa Zimmer Phillips; her sisters, Beth Henley, Becky McBeth (Ronnie) and Meg Phillips and brother, Buck Phillips (Ginger). She will be cherished in memory by her beloved nieces and nephews, Erin, Mitch, Claire, Rob, Lauren, Charlie and Casey and her large extended family of aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews and cousins. She had a great love of family. Her quick wit, boundless generosity and laughter, beautiful eyes and smile will be carried with us in our hearts. Juliana’s family and friends will always be influenced by her life and great capacity to love. She graduated at the top of her class from Columbia University of Gulf Shores with a B.S. in accounting. She was an active and passionate member of AA in the Baldwin county area for many years. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Mary’s Shelter Gulf Coast P.O. Box 18 Elberta, AL 36530. Services were held by Father Jim Dane at St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church in Orange Beach, at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. Interment will be held in Lake Providence, La.
