Ruthe Jo Kalis, 83, of Gulf Shores and Portage, Mich., died Friday, Feb. 17, 2010 surrounded by her family in Portage.
She was born April 16, 1926 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, the daughter of Louis E. “Jess” and Opal E. Guthrie Malindzak.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Kalis in 1950 in Wyandotte, Mich., for a loving 58 years.
She was preceded in death by her parentest; one brother and one sister.
Survivors include a son, Jess (Kathy) Kalis; five grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Dawson, Emily Kalis, Ashlee Kalis, Nicole (Nick) Hurtekant and Laura Adkins; and two great-grandchildren, Isabelle Dawson and Elijah Hurtekant.
No services or visitation have been scheduled.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
