Margaret Harvie Karl, born in London, a native of Clarks Green, Pa., a resident of Foley, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Providence Hospital.
She graduated from Clarks Summit Abington High School in Clarks Summit, Pa., and from Cedar Crest College, Allentown, Pa., with a BA degree in psychology and early childhood development.
She married and after a brief teaching career, she focused on her family and raising two children. Since moving to Foley with her husband four years ago, she has been active in Saint Peter’s Church, Bon Secour, Baldwin Ecumenical Ministries and Baldwin Animal Rescue Center.
Survivors include her husband, Erhard C. Karl III of Foley; son, Erhard C. Karl IV of Marietta, Ga.; daughter Ashley K. Sprayberry of Foley; grandchildren, Martha Claire and Gretchen Karl of Atlanta, Karl, Joe and Sam Sprayberry of Foley; sister Elizabeth Connell of Waverly, Pa.; and brother James Harvie of Collegeville, Pa.
A celebration of life service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 17 Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, Bon Secour. A reception will follow the service at 6:30 p.m. at Saint Peter’s Church.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Saint Peter’s Church or your local church, or to Compassion International, East West Ministries, Bible Study Fellowship, Baldwin Animal Rescue Center.
