Marilyn J. Kastrup, 68, a native of Fruitdale and a longtime resident of Foley, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007 at a local healthcare facility.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Foley where she was active with the LOGOS Program for children.
She was a former business woman in Foley and was instrumental in beginning the ambulance service in the area. She was one of the founders of the South Baldwin Scouting Association and worked tirelessly to raise the funds for the Scout Lodge to be built. She was also known for helping families in need.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gunter “Gus” Carl Kastrup.
Survivors include three children, Scott Gregory Kastrup, Kim Renee Forbus and Karen Kaye Valentine, all of Foley; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., with funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 from the chapel of Pine Rest Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
