Kathryn “Kay” H. Mikesell, 86, of Menomonie, Wisc. and formerly of Foley, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Menomonie.
The former Kathryn Harriet Bastin was born Sept. 7, 1928 in Chicago, Ill. to Floyd and Anna (Mosholder) Bastin.
Kathryn married Raymond Mikesell on Dec. 21, 1947 in Downers Grove, Ill. After their marriage they moved to Menomonie where they raised their family, and Kay helped Raymond with the bookkeeping for their apartment rentals.
Kay and her husband enjoyed wintering in Florida and Alabama for many years, eventually settling in Alabama. Recently they moved back home to Menomonie.
Kay enjoyed traveling, knitting and especially spending time with her family.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Raymond; three children, Ron (Pat) Mikesell, John “Tom” (Katie) Mikesell and Danelle (Ricky) Coffee; six grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Mikesell, Matt (Aimee) Mikesell, Carrie (Lance) Klefstad, Josh (Jessica) Mikesell, Samantha Coffee and Tim Coffee; 13 great-grandchildren, Charlie and Claire Mikesell, Ryan, Zach, Abby and Hanna Mikesell, Eric, Evan, Elic and Elia Klefstad, and Haley, Bree and Brook Mikesell; a sister, Dorothy Kincade; sister-in-law, Kathy Arneson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Anna Bastin; and a brother, Floyd T. Bastin Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Larry Borner officiating.
There will be visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie.
