Katie “Sue” Johnson, 70, a native of Clayton, Ala., and a longtime resident and business woman of Gulf Shores, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010.
She possessed a sharp intellect, a great wit, and vigorous independent spirit, always willing to help someone in need get back on their feet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barto Bush and Birdie Nell Bush; and a brother, Mitchell Bush.
Survivors include a daughter, Leita Ford of San Diego; son, Dwayne Johnson of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Christina Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Angela Sorrels of Highspire, Pa.; one great-grandchild, Samantha McBride; brother, Billy Mac Bush of Columbus Ga.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arrangements were made by Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, Green Cove Springs, Fla.
