Ashlynn Kimbro is having another stellar softball season. The Daphne High School graduate was named the Alabama Community College Conference player of the week for Feb. 8-14. The sophomore shortstop and catcher was 12-for-18 in helping the Govs at Wallace Community College at Dothan to a 5-1 record. An all-ACCC South first-team selection last year, she had three home runs and 10 runs batted in.

As of Monday, she was among the conference leaders in multiple categories. Her seven home runs in 22 games ranked second, and she was sixth with a .449 batting average. She was seventh with 22 RBIs. Kimbro entered the week with a hit in the eight consecutive games she played, her longest hitting streak of the season.
