Kenneth Gerald Knowles, 85, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Sunday, Feb.10, 2013 at his residence.
He was employed with the Civil Service for a number of years then was an employee of the Mobile Register as a carrier. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his children, Ralph (Elaine) Knowles of Vancleave, Miss., Dot Knowles of Bay Minette, and Lisa (Dane) Brunies of Daphne; one sister, Doris Knowles Thompson of Warrner Robbins, Ga; eight grandchildren, Kellie Neuman, Amy Grote, Ryan Wilson, Trent Brunies, Stephanie Shaddix, Ron Knowles, Mark Knowles and Todd Knowles and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Knowles; a son, Ronnie Knowles; one brother, Grant Knowles; a sister, Naomi Knowles and a great-granddaughter, Ann Reese Grote. The funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Joe Boatwright officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bill Wilson, Ryan Wilson, Charles L. Banks, Jr., Trent Brunies, Davey Grote and Hudson Shaddix. Funeral arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
