GULF SHORES, Ala. — Craft Farms Golf Club will host one of the Crimson Tide’s greatest quarterbacks, as well as an NFL legend, Kenny Stabler, when the Gulf Coast Athletic Club meets on September.
It will be the first of eight meetings that the club will hold throughout the football season.
There will be a social hour that begins at 6 p.m. with dinner being served at 6:30.
Stabler was the starting quarterback for Bear Bryant during Alabama’s undefeated 1966 season, which included beating Nebraska in the Sugar Bowl. Selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the NFL draft, Stabler led the team to their first Super Bowl victory in 1977.
Fans have enjoyed Kenny Stabler over the years on the Alabama football broadcast as the color commentator for Eli Gold, and he continues to do speaking engagements around the country.
Guests are welcomed to attend the Gulf Coast Athletic Club meetings. There is a $25 guest fee that may be applied to membership if the guest chooses to join.
The next meeting will be on Sept. 20.
