DAPHNE, Ala. — The Daphne Public Library and Teen Advisory Board will hold their Fourth Annual “Fall into Reading Celebration” from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Daphne Recreation Center.

Tickets to the event cost $1; a package of six tickets costs $5. Proceeds will benefit the Young Adult area of the library.

Connie Baggett and the Jam ’N Folks will perform for the public as the live entertainment.

Local artists from Bay Rivers Art Guild will display their art and a silent auction will be available.

There will be spinning and miniature book making demonstrations. An art-raffle drawing for vintage linen and bath accessory baskets will be held at 8 p.m. Children’s games, face painting, balloon art and refreshments will also be available.

“It becomes a family affair because there is something for all ages,” Youngblood said. “From my point of view, I wanted the teens to see people do art first-hand, and I am trying to bring that experience of music or art close to them.”

The library raised around $1,500 at last year’s event and around 100 people attended, according to Louise Youngblood, young-adult librarian. The library hopes to do as well for this year’s event, Youngblood said.

“We have some good positive feedback and some good live entertainment, so I hope to beat that,” Youngblood said. “Our main emphasis is being an outreach to the community. As long as we break even on expenses incurred, we are good."
