Albert L. “Al” King Jr., 54, a lifelong resident of Gulf Shores, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010.
He was formerly a commercial shrimper and real-estate developer. He was also the founder and owner of Patient First Dialysis Inc. in Gulf Shores.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Callaway King.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Rebecca “Becky” Burrough King; his father, Albert L. (Clara Wallace) King Sr. of Gulf Shores; two sons, David (Nycole) King and Kevin King of Gulf Shores; daughter Amanda King of Gulf Shores; brother Harold (Lynn) King of Youngsville, La.; sister Lillian “ReRe” (Pete) Machen of Gulf Shores; two grandsons, Balian and Ivan King of Gulf Shores; and his canine companion, Lady.
Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 26 at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 27 at First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores. Burial followed at Miller Memorial Cemetery, Gulf Shores.
Pallbearers were Langston Rowe, Lee Peed, Rod Sweet, Duke McCaw, Kenneth Wallace, Reggie Bateman, Hiwatha McGaster, and Robert Younce. Honary pallbearers were George McCaw, Charlie Rosser, Jim Gamble, George Sanders, Rayford Knight and Richard Watley.
