KOERs to showcase their heritage

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Baldwin County’s oldest mystic society will kick off its 24th parade on Jan. 26, at 6:45 p.m.

Under the theme of “Our Heritage,” The Knights of Ecor Rouge will begin and end their serpentine march through Fairhope at the Civic Center. Local and area bands will liven the route with hand-clapping, foot-stompin’ tunes.

In addition to the three traditional KOER floats revelers see each year — Emblem, Bay Boat and Gator — the 12-float parade will showcase KOER heritage with the title float and as well as Battle of Mobile Bay, Hurricanes, Historic Fairhope, Jubilee, Spanish Explorers / Ecor Rouge, Mobile Bay / Delta, Native Americans and the Pirate Ship.
