Kristopher Kyle Thorn, 28, a native and a resident of Daphne, died Tuesday, June 29, 2011, after a long hard battle with Crohn’s disease.
He was a member of the Daphne United Methodist Church and a 2001 graduate of Daphne High School. He spent time as a deckhand with Sea Bulk Towing on the M/V Mobile Point until falling ill. He was an avid fisherman, a proud member of the NRA, and had a love of flying. He was very proud of his two brothers’ Marine Corps career, and dreamed of someday joining them.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, O.L. Thorn, and Doris Thorn.
Survivors include his parents, Kim and Kyle Thorn of Daphne; brothers, Kendell (Melanie) Thorn of Daphne and Kolton (Ashley) Thorn of Cherry Point, N.C.; nieces, Addison Beasley and Ellie Thorn; grandparents, Paul and Dell Wilcox of Opelika; many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 1 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 2 at Daphne United Methodist Church. Graveside services and interment will follow in Jubilee Memorial Gardens, Daphne.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the "Kristopher's Gift" memorial fund at any RBC Bank branch.
