GULF SHORES – Gulf Shores High School principal Ernie Rosado fired third-year head basketball coach Anthony Kummel on Tuesday for unspecified reasons.
Kummel, who led the Dolphins to a 10-12 record last season, was hired by former Athletic Director Duane Davis in 2006.
The Dolphins’ 10-12 record in 2008-09 was the school’s best since moving up from Class 4A into 5A in Kummel’s first season.
Principal Rosado fired Duane Davis for unspecified reasons shortly after the 2008 football season.
Kummel had previously coached at Union County (Ga.), Southside-Selma, Dallas County and Franklin (La.).
