L.A. Boomers On the Go - Holland

(Well naturally L. A. stands for Lower Alabama - what else could it mean?)

Members from our South Alabama Senior Travelers club have returned from an awesome experience in Holland and Belgium.  This trip was coordinated by Diane Hutton, president of the South Alabama Senior Travelers, departing from Foley on April 6 and returning on April 19.

This group of L.A. Boomers enjoyed 'Tiptoeing Through The Tulips' and so much more.  For 14 days, these 14 seniors enjoyed beauty and culture such as they had never seen before; a fabulous experience for this group.

Departing from Pensacola, and landing in Amsterdam, they boarded the MS River Navigator and started this exciting cruise through Holland and Belgium.  Day 3 was Easter Sunday and no place to attend church, so guess what?  When there is a will, there is a way.  Jean began the morning with an Easter devotional, a reading from John 20:1-18 and was followed with prayers.

Naturally there was rain, they all got wet, weather was cold, and still, the trip was unbelievable.  They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there was no place to look that they did not see beauty.  They enjoyed walking tours of tulips and so much more and guided tours of Cathedrals, and to repeat myself, and so much more!

Anticipation and excitement hangs in the air as other trips are being planned which will take this club to other interesting locations.  A group of South Alabama Senior Travelers are currently headed to New Iberia, La, and trips which are in the planning stage include but are not limited to: Dauphin Island, 5 Rivers, Grand Canyon Rail Road Trip, Pigeon Forge, Destin, FL adventure, Kenlake State Park near Paducah, KY, Outer Banks, NC, Irish Splendor and a Christmas Train Ride through the North Georgia Mountains.

The South Alabama Senior Travelers meet twice each month, on Thursdays, at the Foley Senior Citizen Center.  For additional information you may contact Diane Hutton, president, at tdmmkhutton@yahoo.com.
