ROBERTSDALE, Ala. – Robertsdale’s seniors celebrated the end of their regular season home schedule with a come-from-behind win over Foley on Thursday.

Robertsdale dropped the first game but rallied to win three straight to win the match 24-26, 25-21, 25-14, 25-17.

“I played all the seniors in game one, so I had a few starters missing,” Robertsdale coach Metta Roberts said. “Physically they had a chance to win and they were still in the game. I think that any day giving those kids a chance to play together one last time as a group is good.”

Robertsdale honored seniors Deserai Bradley, Bailey Cincotta, Sheila Dailey, Tiesha McKinney, Dienesha McKinney and Kellen Shirley before the match.

“A lot of them are the core of what we do,” Roberts said. “We will miss them.”

Foley coach Jessica Allred said her team couldn’t hold on to the momentum it had after the first game.

“We played real hard,” Allred said. “Robertsdale is a very strategic team. They can look at a team in the first game, then pick them apart thereafter. That is very good on their coach’s end. We hung in there pretty well. I felt like we could have played better, though. You can always play better.”

Foley will play in the Shrimp Festival Tournament at Gulf Shores against Mary G. Montgomery at 2 p.m. Saturday. Robertsdale will host Mary G. Montgomery tonight at 5 p.m. and will host Foley Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the 6A Area 3 tournament. Fairhope and Daphne will play after Foley and Robertsdale.

Roberts said consistency is key for her team the rest of the way.

“We just have to be consistent," Roberts said. "I have been saying all year that being consistent is what we need. I just hope that one day before we are done this season, that we play the best we can play as a group.”

Dailey had 22 kills, Shirley had 43 assists and nine digs, Cincotta had 24 digs, Dineisha McKinney had eight kills and four blocks and Kayli Evans had 12 kills and 10 digs for Robertsdale.

Megan Haber had 11 kills and two solo blocks, Vanessa Dilley had 12 assists, KiKi Youngblood had nine kills, Brittney Davis had seven kills and Summer Collins had five kills and two aces for Foley.
