FOLEY, Ala. – Senior forward Meagan Davis scored 17 points and Gulf Shores never trailed in the second half of a 46-38 win over Foley on Tuesday.

The Lady Dolphins (6-2) opened the second half on a 9-1 run and kept out of striking distance in the fourth period to seal the win. Davis had nine of the 13 Gulf Shores points in the third period.

“She was out of sync in the first half, she had foul trouble,” Gulf Shores coach Rhett Tranchina said of Davis. “Then when she got her rhythm she played much better.”

Laura Peavy had 10 points, including eight in the second half, to complement Davis’ 17.

“We played hard,” Tranchina said. “Foley played really hard which kind of kept us out of our game a little bit. Foley played really hard tonight.”

Kimberly Parks led Foley with 14 points but was held to just one point on a free throw in the second half. Brittney Davis had 11, with seven coming before halftime.

Gulf Shores (6-2) plays at UMS-Wright tonight at 6 p.m. Foley hosts Bayside Academy tonight, also at 6 p.m.
