FAIRHOPE—The Pirates staged a dramatic sixth-inning comeback on Monday night with a 6-5 win over the Robertsdale Golden Bears at Fairhope.
Robertsdale took the early lead in the first scoring three runs on singles by Annaleigh Ash, Allee Bertolla, and Avery Harrison. Fairhope added their first run in the bottom of the fourth when Jaden Morace singled home Emma Kropp.
Robertsdale added two more runs in the sixth on an Emily Sinclair single. Fairhope loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth when Emma Kropp singled, Dakota Holtzclaw reached on an error and Jaden Morace walked.
Hannah Brown brought all three home with a hard drive to centerfield and pulled the Pirates to within one run. Kayla Nelson followed with a two-run home run over the left field fence to put the Pirates on top for good.
Emma Kropp pitched a complete game for Fairhope and got the win. Paige Desmond and Daizee Finley pitched for Robertsdale. Beth Taylor of Robertsdale went 3-4 with two singles and a double.
Dakota Holtzclaw went 2-3 and Taylor LeDrew went 2-4 for Fairhope.
Fairhope remains undefeated in regular season play at 9-0 and 3-0 in Class 7A, Area 2. Robertsdale is 7-3 in the regular season play and 2-2 in Class 6A, Area 2.
