SPANISH FORT, Ala.—The visiting Lady Tigers combined their run away offense with a stifling press to take a 39-20 road win at Spanish Fort Saturday.

Denosha Maye had 12 points, CoCo Knight 10 while Delicia Adams and Latia Pullam each added five to lead Baldwin County to their 10th win in 12 games.

With two starters out, the Lady Toros pulled up JV players to swell the varsity roster to seven with junior Olivia Swan scoring 11 and Avery Estes adding five.

The Tigers opened with an explosive 14-5 first-quarter run before the Toros limited further damage in the second period matching a seven-point BC mark with a six-point reply.

The Tigers led 21-11 at the half and outscored SF 15-5 in the third and cruised to the win.

“We tried to push the tempo tonight which usually works more in our favor than against,” said BCHS head coach Robert Wills whose bench was without a couple of starters as well, especially under the post. “Tonight we were able to push the tempo up again without too many mistakes although we definitely are still making too many at times. Having too many turnovers and just taking too many bad shots in transition. But we’re working on making better decisions in the flow and I see improvement since the first of the year and that’s good. And it’s not that the choices are all bad, they just need to finish with better quality shots.”

Wills’ girls are undefeated (3-0) in area play averaging double-digit margins of victory over Fairhope, Foley and Daphne. The Lady Pirates get another shot at BCHS in Bay Minette Tuesday night at 6 p.m. The Tigers will travel to meet area and county rival Robertsdale in the Hub City Jan. 4.

The Lady Toros return to action after Christmas in the Fort Walton Beach tournament and will host Daphne Jan. 2 at 6 p.m.
